It is with deep pains and heavy heart that I have to accept the news of your exit from this wicked world. It is however a colossal loss which came with a perpetual vacuum.

Big Daddy, you birthed many of us through love and care. You shared all you got with those you drew close to yourself by yourself, and those whom the storms of life threw to your shores. You provided a very firm shoulder to rest on at tearful moments, ready arms to receive drenched souls. Oh! If good people are leaving the stage for bad ones to live, then the world is nothing but a shadow.

A swelled bank account does not mean anything to you, President Fugar America Foundation & Chairman Adachi Global Property Inc USA. In everything you did, you considered the poor and the less privileged. Those youths you were sponsoring through university who didn’t even know you were their sponsor and those that you paid their fees directly are crying. That beautiful kitchen in your country home’s edifice, is a destination for the nation. And 150 sitter capacity Hall in your home is where everyone sits to dine and wine together with you whenever you are in town in a table of brotherhood. The insurance broker emeritus who was a friend of all, and enemy to none is gone! But I thank you for hopes and paths that you created for others. Those who have had to spend holidays in Atlanta Georgia USA testified that your house is an Edo family house. That is because you lived totally for others. And I am convinced that you are going with nothing because you spent everything here on humanity.

I know that death is a point of transition to the world beyond, a place of eternity. Apparently, the diaspora coordinator, St. John’s Old Boys Association, you came, you saw and you conquered!

Yours sincerely is among the young men who benefited from your love and care. Daddy, without asking or request you volunteered to sponsor the first edition of my publication, and you would always say “we must do what we have to do”.

A statesman and patriotic patron, fare well. With the indelible footprints you left on our soil, Fugarians and  Afemai will not forget you in a hurry. I pray for the repose of your soul, as I pray for the fortitude for your family and all of us to bear the eternal loss.
