...urges NWC to restructure party now
Former Director of Media of Ekiti Grassroots Movement has charged the National Leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to rescue the party from former governor, Fayose before it disappears into thin air.
He added that former governor is living in the past glory.
Reacting to the just concluded governorship election in the state, Adebisi Adeola, said party members revolted against Fayose’s overbearing attitudes and inept leadership in the party.
“There were instances of inducement, but losing virtually to SDP, a political party that has no grassroots configuration is not only shameful but sad. The most embarrassing aspect was losing some Local Governments we have never lost since 2006 the state was created.
“Fayose has lost the grip of the party right from 2018 he left office as executive governor, he has taken full control of the party.
“We have had series of election since 2018, unfortunately, PDP has failed under Fayose to install a successor that will continue the legacy of the party in the state.
“Now that Fayemi has produced a successor, our fear is that Ekiti state, which is known as PDP predominantly state, may find it hard to return to power if Fayose is not checked or advised to step aside to overhaul the party ahead 2023 presidential election.
“It was a revolt from the 16 Local Governments of the state which has been preempted before now, giving how the leadership of the party handled the internal crisis and salient problems before the election,” Adeola said.
He, however, called on the NWC of the party to, as a matter of urgency, restructure it for the various task ahead.
