As angry debates and disputations rage about the Imposed, Fraudulent Unitary Constitution of Nigeria (1999), and as Suggestions and Propositions for remediation spring out from all quarters, a former Governor of Bayelsa State, now a Senator in Nigeria’s National Assembly, Henry Seriake Dickson, joined the fray on Arise TV, August 22, 2024, declaring that the Fundamental Constitutional Reconstruction of Nigeria is an urgent Imperative, Noting that the nature of the Constitution-Reconstruction Undertaking demanded by Nigeria’s dire situation, goes far beyond the Powers of the National Assembly. He also explained that Nigeria needs a National Dialogue to kickstart the Process of the Fundamental Constitutional Reconstruction required to reset the Basis of the Nigerian Union, (Here is the Link to the said Interview Session https://youtu.be/OWGiBqFT_h4?si=CicEktA-8zTyxaj5).

Even with the serious gaps in Senator Seriake Dickson’s postulations regarding WHAT to do in remediation of the totally dysfunctional Unitary Nigeria of now, Senator Dickson has admitted most of what could drive the requisite for the Acknowledgment leg of the NINAS 5-Point Proposition (See the Guardian Newspaper link at the bottom of this note).

Senator Henry Seriake Dickson

He also substantially captured the urgency of Nigeria’s situation when he described the clamour for Fundamental Constitutional Reconstruction of Nigeria as an IMPERATIVE.

The sharp differences between Senator Dickson’s Postulations and those of most political merchants and people in Government, show clearly that those running the Distressed Federation of Nigeria with an Imposed Unitary Constitution, who are now struggling with monumental failures of Nigeria on all fronts, do not understand the meaning of ‘CONSTITUTION’ and ‘FEDERATION’.

Consequently, they do not understand the Process of Constitution-Making for a Federation and so they muddle it up with Constitution-Drafting.

They also do not understand that the Legislative Mandate of the National Assembly does not extend to Constitution-Making neither do they understand the nexus between the many Debilitations of Nigeria and the Untenable and Unworkable Unitary Constitution of Nigeria nor do they understand the causative connection BETWEEN the Pains, Poverty AND the Multidimensional Miseries of the Peoples of Nigeria.

As Nigeria wobbles dangerously towards chaos and collapse, those who genuinely wish to address the fatally flawed Unitary Constitutional Foundation upon which Nigeria and its Democracy are currently erected, must now find the courage to examine, interrogate and embrace the NINAS 5-Point Transitioning Proposition for the Constitutional Reconstruction of Nigeria which provides a Clear Redemption Pathway for Nigeria that has broken down under the Strain of its Unitary Constitutional Foundation.

The NINAS Union Reconstruction Proposition as articulated in the NINAS Constitutional Force Majeure Proclamation of December 16, 2020 is the Only Solution Package that clearly sets forth:

(1) WHAT The Problem is.

(2) WHAT the Solution is.

(3) HOW the Solution will be applied;

(4) WHEN that Solution will be applied and,

(5) WHO will do

what, when and how in applying that Solution.
