Political Scientist and University Don, Prof Tony Okere has accused former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Emeka Ihedioha of deliberately exposing PDP candidates in Imo state for undue litigations before and after the 2023 elections.

Prof Okere made this disclosure on Tuesday while answering questions from newsmen in Enugu, Enugu State.

He said, Ihedioha’s quest to grab delegate votes of Orlu zone in the forthcoming PDP Governorship primaries led him to compromise with the two aggrieved Senatorial aspirants, Jerry Alagbaoso and ThankGod Ezeani to thwart the collective mandate of Orlu people through the court.

According to him, now that the party has lost a senatorial candidate in Imo West District, Ihedioha and co-conspirators should not go home to relax yet, adding that the court judgement remains the beginning of his (Ihedioha) political downfall.

He said that the court verdict has opened a can of worm for the party’s candidates in the 2023 polls, pointing out that other contestants would leverage on the judgement to sack PDP candidates whose primary elections were conducted outside their approved zones before and after the polls.

The University Don further expressed regret how Ihedioha, an acclaimed leader of PDP could allow his personal desire to jeopardize the collective interest of a party that has given him much political privileges in life.

He recalled how same Jones Onyereri carried Ihedioha’s cross and worked hard for the realization of his Governorship bid in 2019, wondering why he (Ihedioha) would suddenly forget to keep such a good relationship with the removed Imo West senatorial Candidate.
