Troops of the Nigerian Army, in conjunction with operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), have arrested two suspected kidnappers in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.

Security sources told Zagazola that the suspects were apprehended at about 2:00 p.m. on June 22 during a routine patrol by troops of the 195 Battalion in collaboration with the police at Ososo Community.

The sources said the arrest followed an alarm raised by Mrs Success Sikiru, who identified the suspects and alleged that they had kidnapped her, her husband and their child along the Egbetua–Okpella Road on May 11, 2026.

According to the sources, troops immediately pursued and apprehended the two suspects.

Items recovered from the suspects included one power bank, two mobile phones, N70,410 in cash and other personal effects.
The suspects and the recovered items were subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
