Rev. Fr. Raphael Ogigbah and Rev. Fr. Kunav Chochos, two priests of the Catholic Church who were kidnapped last Saturday by unknown gunmen at Agbarha-Otor town, in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, have regained their freedom.

Fr. Ogigbah, who is the parish priest of St. Francis Catholic Parish Agbarha-Otor, Catholic Diocese of Warri; and Rev. Fr. Chochos, a missionary priest of the Schoenstartt Fathers, reportedly regained their freedom from the abductors on Thursday and have since reunited with the leadership of the Catholic Diocese of Warri.

A priest in the diocese, who confirmed the development to journalists, did not disclose whether ransom was paid to secure their release.

It was however gathered that the abductors had earlier demanded N20m for their release.

The duo were kidnapped in front of Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, Agbarha-Otor near Ughelli last Saturday.

Chochos, who works and lives in Ibadan, Oyo State, was in Delta to visit his friend, Ogigbah, at Agbarha-Otor.
