The Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU), has joined the rest of the country to mourn the loss and painful transition of its beloved father, a great son of the Urhobo nation, senior petroleum engineer, patriot and titan in the oil and gas sector, Mr Monday Ovuede.

This information was made known through a press release by the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU), Oil and Gas Technical Committee and was signed by Sonia Ohwojero, PRO on behalf of the Executive Committee.

“With great sadness, Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) Oil and Gas Technical Committee regretfully join the nation to mourn the loss and painful transition of our beloved father, a great son of the Urhobo nation, senior petroleum engineer, patriot and titan in the oil and gas sector, Mr Monday Ovuede.

“Until his death, Mr Monday Ovuede was the Director of Chevron Corporation’s joint venture with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) – NNPCL/CNLJV.

The UPU, Oil and Gas Technical Committee said it was proud of a life so beautifully lived by Monday Ovuede and that it deserves to be beautifully remembered. They added that his over two decades of sterling and professional services in the oil and gas sector produced high quality innovations, breakthroughs and successes.

“We are so proud of a life so beautifully lived; it deserves to be beautifully remembered. His over two decades of sterling and professional services in the oil and gas sector has produced high quality innovations, breakthroughs and successes.

“His death is a great loss to the petroleum industry in Nigeria, the Urhobo nation, Deltans and Nigerians at large. His legacies and achievements will continue to herald his values and endear his personality to us.

“Please join us to mourn the passing of our revered Monday Ovuede. Our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, friends, the Urhobo nation in general, and the organization where he last served.
