Valentine  Ozigbo  Bestowed  ‘Illustrious Son Of The Year’ As Ndi Anambra In Delta  State Celebrate Anambra Day

On Sunday August 29 2021, Valentine Ozigbo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2021 Anambra Governorship election, was bestowed with the prestigious ‘Illustrious Son of the Year’ Award by indigenes of Anambra in Delta State at its spectacular Ogbako Ndi Anambra event.

According to the organisers, Mr Ozigbo was honoured with the award on account of his huge contribution to empowering Ndi Anambra across Nigeria, and his relentless pursuit of the development of the southeastern state.

While receiving the award, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, expressed gratitude to Ndi Anambra in Delta State for finding him worthy of the honour.

Ozigbo, a respected business mogul, recalled that he started his professional career in Warri as a banker and had always maintained ties with Ndi Anambra in the city, describing the event as “a homecoming of sorts”.

Mr Valentine Ozigbo, who was represented by Barrister Chigboo Anyabolu, a senior member of the PDP Anambra Governorship Campaign Council, seized the opportunity to appeal to Ndi Anambra living in Warri to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, in light of the upcoming governorship election.

“Securing your voter’s card is the first step towards actualising the Anambra of our dreams,” Mr Ozigbo said.

“I am prepared to champion the birth of a new Anambra, and I am counting on your partnership because I cannot do it alone.

“Our Ka Anambra Chawapu Manifesto has been widely received by Ndi Anambra. We have hit the ground running and will be relying on you all to help drive the message home,” Ozigbo added.

The Ogbako Ndi Anambra event is an annual occasion organised to celebrate Anambra Day in Delta State. This year’s event was held at Jubilee Event Center, Effurun, Warri, attracting prominent Anambra indigenes living Delta State and beyond.

A high point of the activities marking Anambra Day was the launch of the Ogbako Ndi Anambra Elites’ Book.

 

Several notable dignitaries graced the event, including High Chief Victor Nwankwo; Chief Chuma Chukwukeme, the CEO Chumatex & Bros LTD; Hon Sonny Ozobialu, the lawmaker representing Nnewi South Constituency 1 at the Anambra State House of Assembly, among others.

Through his charity, Ozigbo has empowered over 300,000 Anambra indigenes through various initiatives including talent hunt programmes, health awareness exercises, business grants, peace walks, and mentorship programmes.
