Valentine Ozigbo, a 2021 Anambra governorship candidate, on Sunday, February 12, 2023, lauded the creation of the Catholic Diocese of Aguleri by His Holiness Pope Francis.
In a statement made available to the press, Mr. Ozigbo congratulated Rt. Reverend Denis Isizoh, who was appointed as the Bishop of the Diocese, which was created from the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha.
“I am elated by the news of the creation of the Catholic Diocese of Aguleri by His Holiness Pope Francis,” Ozigbo wrote.
“I celebrate with Catholic faithful worldwide on this special occasion and congratulate Rt. Reverend Denis Chidi Isizoh, who has been appointed as the first Bishop of the Diocese.
“Bishop Isizoh has been an embodiment of grace, humility, and wisdom, and this elevation is a befitting reward for many years of steadfast service in the Lord’s vineyard.
“I also congratulate His Grace, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, for his excellent stewardship of the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, and I pray for a continuance of the great work that has been accomplished under his watch,” Ozigbo added.
