The inexorable march of Peters Omokuayigbe Omaruaye continues unabated to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to represent the good people of Delta Central. Visit after visit, consultation after consultation, monarch after monarch, and the results appear as resounding and as constant as the ‘sands of time’. Omaruaye continues to attract the seal of approval and “You Go!” from kings, tradesmen, and even market traders!

And so it was again on the 29th of November when a resonant response was heard across Okpe, Oghara, and Idjerhe. On his visits to the monarchs of all three kingdoms in the Central Senatorial District, Omaruaye received what we can only describe as a strong seal of approval from the monarchs. Accompanied by Barrister Michael Ogboru, the APGA Ethiope Federal Constituency Candidate; Barrister Amos Ejedegba, the APGA Osu Federal Constituency Candidate; Engr. Elvis Ayomanor, the APGA Delta House of Assembly Candidate Sapele Constituency Candidate, Engr. Otis Onanefe Agbaminor the APGA Delta House of Assembly Okpe Constituency candidate and Hon. Martins George Ebeigbe APGA candidate for ethiope west constituency. Omaruaye was warmly received by all the monarchs visited.

At Okpe, His Royal Majesty, Orhue 1, Major General Felix Mujakperuo, (CFR, mni; rtd), the Oroje of Okpe kingdom prayed for Omaruaye and admonished him that in victory he must always remember his campaign promises to the people. He noted that as is customary, himself, the Otota, the most senior Okakoro are ‘non-aligned’, and do not subscribe to individual parties but view all candidates as sons of the land, and as such, sons of Okpe.

His Royal Majesty, Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, Udurhie I, Ovie of Idjerhe received the group as all other monarchs had. Omaruaye represents a new breed of politicians who not only have a deep reverence for tradition but understand intrinsically that fair play and giving to each what is theirs is the only way to guarantee peace, which in turn guarantees growth and economic development.

Indeed Omaruaye spoke of those facts as he mentioned that the BVAS system would also preclude the use of “devices” such as “incident forms” that had been used in the past to steal votes.

From Idjerhe the APGA hopefuls went to the palace of His Royal Majesty Uku Oghara Na Me Orefe III, The Ovie of Oghara kingdom. At Oghara, the APGA candidates found in His Royal Majesty, an Ogboru Progressive. His Royal Majesty proclaimed his love for the Great Ogboru movement and indeed his deep affection for Great Ovedje Ogboru. He noted that Ogboru had stood up for the people at a time when most would have recoiled at the challenge. At a point he asked the audience to be clapping for “The peoples general.
