Chaos erupted at a boutique in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, after its owner, identified as Madam Nneoma, allegedly transformed into a pool of water to evade operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Eyewitnesses said EFCC officials arrived at the shop on Ogoja Road in connection with a multi-million naira fraud case linked to the businesswoman.

As the operatives moved in, customers and staff reportedly saw Madam Nneoma melt into a pool of clear water, leaving her clothes on the floor.

“She was arranging clothes, then suddenly water was everywhere. Her wrapper and blouse just dropped,” a salesgirl said, noting the woman’s long-standing reputation in the area as a “water goddess.”

EFCC operatives were said to have been startled, with some attempting to collect the water as evidence.

Residents have since flocked to the boutique, while local traditionalists claim she simply returned to her spiritual realm and may reappear later.

The EFCC has not released an official statement on the incident. (The Nation)
