WE CAN SLEEP WITH OUR EYES CLOSE BECAUSE OF THE ARMED FORCES – ENGR. SEYI MAKIND
The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Mankinde has today 14th January 2024 stated that the Good People of Oyo state can sleep with their eyes closed because of the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Oyo State, Professor Olanike Adeyemo made this statement during the 2024 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day Church Service held at the Cathedral of St Peter, Aremo, Ibadan.
During the address, Professor Olanike thanked the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army Major General Bamidele Alabi who was ably represented by the Chief of Staff 2 Division Nigerian Army Brigadier General Biyidi Martins and other members of the Armed Forces for their sacrifices and gallantry in ensuring that peace and security is maintained in Oyo State and Nigeria.
In his sermon, the Diocesan Bishop of Ibadan Anglican Diocese, Retired Reverend Williams Aladekugbe who also thanked the Armed Forces for their bravery and sacrifices for the oneness and unity of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole, prayed for the continues guidance and protection of members of the Armed Forces.
Also in attendance are The Commander 671 Nigerian Airforce Station Ibadan, Air Commodore AG Akinyimika, The Commissioner of Police Oyo State Command, The Chairman, Nigerian Legion Oyo State Command Evangelist Julius Ogunkojo and other dignitaries from the State Government.
