Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and three of his allies – Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo) – are currently in Europe.
It is understood that the governors flew to Madrid, Spain, on Friday night.
They left the country hours after Wike held a media chat where he fired salvo at the PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, and insisted that he must quit for peace to reign.
He also boasted that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would not win the election if he and his allies leave the party.
The concession we have made is that we won’t leave the party. Assuming we say we will leave the party, do you know the effect of that? Whether you like it or not, if I leave the party today, PDP cannot win. If we are leaving, we are leaving with all our people, and that is the truth of the matter.

A dependable source from Government House, Port Harcourt confided in our reporter that the governor and his team left Port Harcourt International Airport late Friday night.
He added that the governor of Enugu State will likely join the team in Madrid.
The source said Governor Wike and his team will discuss the way forward on the crisis rocking the party while in Madrid.
Earlier reports spoke of how Atiku put his campaign on hold and sent fresh emissaries to Wike.
But apparently referring to the discussions he had with Atiku’s team, Wike said he had accepted Atiku but no one would make him change his mind on the resignation of Ayu.
