2023: INEC Chairman Briefs FEC

The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu is briefing the Federal Executive Council, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on issues involving the general elections.

The Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba is also expected to brief the Council although he had not arrived the villa when the meeting started around 9:58 am

Prior to the briefing by the INEC Chairman, the Council observed a minute silence in honour of Air Commodore Dan Suleiman (retd), former minister of special duties under General Yakubu Gowon.

Dan Suleiman also served in the Supreme Military Council in General Murtala Muhammed military regime between July 1975 and March 1976.

He was military governor of Plateau State from March 1976 to July 1978 after it had been created from part of the old Benue Plateau State.
