Scores of protesters have started assembling themselves in preparation for the #Endbadgovernance protest in Oyo state.

Though there was no sign the protest would hold some minutes ago, the aggrieved youths suddenly emerged from Elizabeth Road and marched to Mokola Roundabout with placards singing anti-government songs.

Immediately after they arrived, the policemen were seen making calls for reinforcement.

The youths were peaceful in their conduct calling on the security agents to keep vigilance.

When speaking, the leader of the protest said the protest is yet to start.

“We’re here to exercise our constitutional rights. We have to free ourselves from these hoodlums who call themselves leaders. We cannot continue like this. Enough is enough. This is Endbadgovernance protest. We’re just converging. The protest has not started.”

“We are not afraid or intimidated by the presence of security personnel. We’re performing our duty as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution as amended. The security must protect us so that there will not be any casualties. It is our fundamental Human right to engage in peaceful protest.” (Vanguard)

•As Nigeria marked its 64th Independence Day Anniversary, hundreds of citizens have taken to the streets of Abuja in a #protest tagged #FearlessInOctober, calling for an end to bad governance.
