The Nigerian Army has reinforced its commitment to improving operational readiness with the inauguration of new training facilities at the 3 Division Training School and Shooting Range in Miango, Plateau State.

The facilities, commissioned on Tuesday by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, include newly constructed hostel blocks designed to provide a more conducive learning environment for officers and soldiers undergoing training.

Speaking at the event, the Army Chief said the new infrastructure would enhance the quality of training and professional development of personnel, stressing that effective training remains the foundation of the Nigerian Army’s combat capability and operational success.

According to him, providing an enabling environment for learning is critical to producing highly skilled, disciplined, and mission-ready troops capable of addressing Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.

Lieutenant General Shaibu also reaffirmed his command philosophy, anchored on the “Soldier First Concept,” noting that prioritising the welfare and professional development of personnel is essential to building a motivated and combat-ready force.

He commended the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, for initiating the project and ensuring prudent use of resources.

The Army Chief described the project as a reflection of the Nigerian Army’s determination to strengthen its training capacity and enhance its ability to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
