Ingram Jones is a British citizen and an International Cricket Development Officer. He has over 10 years experience in the development of the sport. As stated in his profile his experience, track record of success, and being named a 2011 National Community Champion has been covered by local, national and international media. Ingram is a National Community Champion from the United Kingdom.

According to Peter Oghenejobo Ekiejare, the founding Manager/COO of GCUOBA Cricket Club, apart from having Ingram Jones train the Club team, he would also be deployed to Government College Ughelli, a Cricket power house in the past whose burden of coming up to speed with current Cricket developments in Nigeria, rests on the shoulders of Cricket loving members of the Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association. Ekiejere is an old boy of Government College Ughelli and the current Chairman of the Lagos Club Cricket Committee, organizers of the Lagos Elite Premier Division 1 and Division 2 Leagues in Nigeria. Below is a coaching clip from Ingram Jones’ Youtube channel on a Pre-Match Catching Drill in Grenada;

The GCUOBA Cricket Club was set up in 2016 and registered in the Lagos Club Cricket Committee Division 2 League. The Club made very rapid and unprecedented progress by pure hard work, commitment and unflinching support from GCU old boys both within and outside Nigeria.

The GCUOBA Cricket Club gained  promotion to the Lagos Elite Premier Division 1 League in the 2018. They were presented with Cricket equipment by the GCUOBA Class of 1974. It was a well coordinated pursuit and management of scarce resources by the Club personnel consisting of Peter ‘Mannie” Ekiejare, Newman Akpore, Michael Egiethua, Arthur Aya and Kingsley Abanum. The voluntary generous donations by old boys is invaluable to the success of our club.

According to Peter Ekiejare, Mr. Godwin Tanarunor took an initiative in 2018 and mobilized his GCUOBA Class of 1974 to donate world class Cricket equipment to our darling club and Mr. Michael Marioghae, two exemplary Cricketers of the highest repute from their GCU days, have been most dedicated and committed to the development of the game. As a matter of fact, Airline Pilot, Captain Michael Marioghae made it to Lagos from the United Kingdom, where he is resident, to play 2 very crucial games with the Club and his experience and contributions to our games were very impactful and helped the club to gain promotion to division 1 in 2018. He thanked all the players and coach Azeez Salako for their dedication and selflessness to the GCUOBA Cricket Club.

Peter Ekiejare said, the ultimate satisfaction for the GCUOBA CC is to take Cricket coaching clinics to the old school, Government College Ughelli, at least twice in a year and by so doing help to bring the school back to its pride of place in Nigerian cricket. He also said upgrading the playing pitches in the school is a priority.

The club also hopes to work harder to keep the team in division 1 this season while preparing to contest the number one position in division1 in the coming seasons. GCUOBA Cricket Club is mostly financed with donations made by it’s old boys and is working assiduously to secure corporate sponsorship from within the ranks of its illustrious old boys worldwide.
