Nesiama pulled a total of 218 votes out of 244 registered voters to beat his opponent, Sunny Ofehe, who scored 20 votes with 6 votes voided.
Commodore Nesiama was declared the winner of the contest setting him in a battle against Hon. Micheal Diden, a.k.a Ejele, Peoples Democrat Party candidate and Hon. Joel Onowakpo of the All Progressives Congress in the general elections scheduled for February, 2023.
Nesiama, while accepting and appreciating his supporters in his acceptance speech after the victory, stated that a new dawn of endless possibilities and hope have come to the people of Delta South.
“The delegates have proved that it is possible to jettison the old style of politicking that has brought near hopelessness to us.
“By this endorsement, our hope is renewed. We shall now mount up with wings as eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint.
“I thank God, all the delegates, the Hope Restoration Movement and our teeming and ever growing supporters base for the encouragement thus far.
“Let everyone now brace up for the bigger task ahead of us which is to deliver the Senatorial District to the NNPP.” He said.
