The highlight of the celebration was the conferment of the prestigious Chieftaincy title of Dan Madamin Yusufari upon Engr Hassan Mohammed. This honor not only recognized his contributions to the community but also symbolized his elevated status within the emirate.
Additionally, the emirate surprised His Excellency Amb Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai Rtd CFR Betara of Biu with the chieftaincy title of Garkuwan Yusufari, further underscoring his importance and influence in the region.
The Turbaning ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including the President of the 9th Assembly, Distinguished Sen Ahamad Ibrahim Lawal GCON Sardaunan Bade, who added an air of prestige to the event. His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, was ably represented by Muhammad Lawan Gana, Commissioner of Health in Yobe State. The presence of notable personalities such as DG TY Buratai Institute for War and Peace, Buratai Brig Gen Dadan Garba Zannan Biu, and Former Director Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Sani Usman Kukasheka mni, added to the grandeur of the occasion.

The festivities kicked off with a medical outreach program that lasted for three days, benefiting over 1000 individuals from different communities within and outside Yusufari Emirate by Tukur and Tukur Foundation headed by Col Haruna Idris Zaria Rtd. This initiative demonstrated the commitment of the notable individuals being honored by the Emirate to the well-being of the people of Yusufari.
The Turbaning ceremony itself took place on the 31st of December 2023, followed by a novelty football match between TY Buratai Maiduguri and Yusufari United Club in the evening. The night concluded with a spectacular Gala held at the Gashua Township Stadium, where guests were treated to a night of entertainment and celebration.
The following day, on the 1st of January, another novelty football match was held at the Gashua Township Stadium, this time between TY Buratai Football Academy and Gashua Football Club. This friendly match further highlighted the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship that prevailed throughout the event.
