Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Idanre/Ifedore Federal constituency of Ondo State, have declared as false, the purported declaration of Mr Tajudeen Adefioye, as the winner of Friday’s Primary election, of the Constituency. The group, which said many of its members participated as delegates during the election, stated that the elections were inconclusive and that the electoral Committee of the APC, led by Mr Taiwo Aketu, absconded from the venue of the election, before the close of the process.

Speaking in a press statement issued signed by Hon Abayomi Kunle, the group said the desperation of the Electoral committee to circumvent due process, in order to impose Mr Adefioye as the candidate of the party, made the exercise to further lose its legality as INEC, Security agencies, media and observers, were left in the dark by the Electoral committee.

“We have issued this media statement, to debunk the media reports about the emergence of Tajudeen Adefioye as the APC candidate for our Federal constituency. The nullity and illegality of the Akeju Committee, is such that doesn’t only show desperation, but also a criminal attempt at hijacking the mandate of our members, to a cash and carry politician.”

“Since the election was inconclusive and no official winner emerging, as witnessed today by every participants at the primary, it must be said, that the primary hasn’t been conducted, in accordance with our party guidelines and the provisions of our electoral act.”

“Finally, we wish to state, that we will resist any attempt by these external forces, to foist Tajudeen Adefioye on our party, as we wish to state our readiness to pursue this to a logical conclusion.
