Akpabio makes adjustments in Senate leadership

Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday, announced minor changes in the Senate leadership positions.

The action, according to him, was based on the appointment of the former Deputy Senate Leader, David Umahi, as the Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu.

Akpabio, at the commencement of plenary, said the former Deputy Whip, Lola Ashiru, representing Kwara South, has been appointed as the Deputy Senate Leader.

He also said Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, representing Ebonyi North Central Senatorial District, has been appointed as the Deputy Whip. (THISDAY: Text, Excluding Headline)
