…Commends him for his able representation in the National Assembly
…says he is a “committed” voice from the Niger Delta
The Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Caucus leaders in Bayelsa West Senatorial District, visited the former governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District at the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson at his country home in Toru-Orua, Sagbama Local Governemt Area of Bayelsa State on Sunday 2nd of January, 2020.
The meeting went into a two hours closed door session after which Senator Henry Seriake Dickson addressed the media where he stated that he was enriched with the enlightened , experienced views and advise of the Elders Caucus.
He thanked the members of the PDP Bayelsa West Senatorial District Elders Caucus for appreciating his modest efforts and contributions as Governor and now as Senator representing the Constituency He thanked them immensely for always being there for him and the party, noting that this Senatorial Zone is the Back Bone of the PDP in Bayelsa state, noting that, “the Caucus Leaders are the back bone of the PDP in the Senatorial Zone.”
Senator Dickson said these are the people upon whom the strength of the PDP in Bayelsa State is built.
Also speaking to our correspondent on the essence of the closed-door meeting, former Chairman of Sagbama Local Government Area and Vice Chairman of the Sagbama PDP Elders’ Caucus, Hon Michael Magbisa said, the Bayelsa West PDP Caucus comprising of the State Chairman Chief TK Okorotie, Himself as Vice Chairman, Elder Fynman Wilson, Chairman Sagbama PDP Elders’s Caucus, the Secretary of the Sagbama PDP caucus, Ayakeme Wiskey, and other PDP Caucus members, when they heard their Senator was in town, the whole caucus of Sagbama and Ekeremor had to come and pay him a visit.
Hon. Michael Magbisa said Senator Dickson was representing the Bayelsa West Senatorial District perfectly in the National Assembly. He said Bayelsa West had been sending Senators to the National Assembly in the past and they have had no impact, no voice at the Sanate and non has come anywhere near the effectiveness of Senator Dickson. He said once Senator Dickson finished his 8 year tenure as Bayelsa Governor and was elected unanimously from the Party Primaries to represent the District, comprising of Ekeremo and Sagbama LGAs, and subsequently won at the general election and was sworn in as a Senator, Bayelsa West has been shocked by the change in the activities of their representative from silence to a huge and very loud voice coming from Senator Henry Seriake Dickson.
He said that is the reason why the leadership of the caucus, led by chief TK Okorotie passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Senator at the National Assembly. He said as a party, they are so proud of Senator Dickson and have urged him to do more especially as it relates to the transmission of electoral results. He said they urged him to speak more on the subject matter so that in elections in our areas and Nigeria in general, votes will count. He said they also came to wish Senator Dickson a very happy New Year.
Also speaking to our reporter, Hon. Alale Embeleakpo, Chairman, Sagbama Local Government Area said the purpose of their visit was to come and consolidate with Senator Dickson, to thank him for all he has been doing to protect the interest of Sagbama and Ekeremor LGAs, Bayelsa State and indeed the whole of the Niger Delta and Nigerians in general. He said Senator Dickson has been the mouthpiece of the Ijaw nation, that they have not seen his kind of representation from 1999 till date. He said Dickson is so unique and that as Chairman of Sagbama LGA, he stands by him and will follow whatsoever directive he gives any time.

Michael Magbisa – Former Sagbama Local Government Chairman and Vice Chairman, Sagbama PDP Elders Caucus.
