The General Manager Radio Nigeria, Bronze FM Benin, Comrade Victorson Agbenson has hailed the long standing partnership between the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeri, FRCN.
Comrade Agbenson stated this while fielding questions from the BBC Media Action team on the sidelines of the ongoing Communication to Reduce
Sex Trafficking in Edo State, CREST, Project taking place in Benin city.
While emphasizing that the robust partnership has continued to ensure the training of broadcast manpower in Radio Nigeria stations across the country, Comrade Agbenson solicited for more capacity building to further equip staff especially in the area of news and programmes.
Comrade Agbenson gave assurance that with the BBC training, the menace of trafficking of girls in the state would be curbed through quality production and broadcast of programmes from bronze FM.
He advocated sustainability of the training and increase of trainee quota to meet up with current broadcast trends and challenges.
The General Manager explained that with the feedback from the audience base of Bronze FM, the BBC training was making significant impact that should be sustained.
The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN began as an off shoot of the BBC in the 1930s while the BBC Media Action is an international development charity, working to reduce poverty, improve health, and support human rights through media and communication.
