As India Celebrates 75th Independence Anniversary On 15th August

The High Commission of India, Abuja, Nigeria in association with the Indian Community and Nigerian Friends is today, 8th August, 2021 holding the India-Nigeria Friendship Cup Tournament to commemorate Indian’s Seventy Fifth Independence Anniversary at the National Stadium/CCA Cricket Oval in Abuja.

Among dignitaries expected are the Minister of Sports, the Indian High Commissioner, President of the Nigerian Cricket Federal is already on ground watching the games. Other Cricket stakeholders are also present and more are coming in.

In the first T10 game of the day between the Zuma Pioneers and Yankari Tigers, Tigers batted first and scored 112 runs in 10 overs. The Zuma Pooneers came in the second inning to chase 112 and needed 113 runs to win. Unfortunately, they were only able to bat 102 in ten overs. Yanjari Tigers won the game.

Kalvery Himalaya batting in the first inning

The second game between Kalveri Titans and Himalaya Warriors is on going. Kalvery Titans batted 72 in ten overs. Himalaya Warriors are presently chasing and Pankaj has been on rampage 7th over and played 24 runs as follows; kne four and three Sixes in a roll. Presently the Worrios are 66.

India has sponsored two up and coming Nigerian Cricketers to one of Indians most prestigious Cricket Academy and is looking to do more.

India will mark its 75th Independence on the 15th of July, 2021.
