The Integrity Youth Alliance has discovered a clandestine publication plan by a WhatsApp group known as “2019 NNPC CEH”.

In a press release on Monday, 17th May 2021 signed by its National Coordinator, Kelvin Adegbenga, he said, “Privileged information at our disposal revealed that the “2019 NNPC CEH” are already raising money to do front page publications in major Newspapers alleging that the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is recruiting those that did not participate in the 2019 Recruitment Exercise and are being issued Letter of Appointment.”

“We want to say authoritatively that the current NNPC leadership led by Mallam Mele Kyari has not done any fresh recruitment in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. We are warning Nigerians to be vigilant as scammers might be at work again, the statement read.

The Alliance further reminded job seekers to note the antics of scammers who deploy on social media platforms, such communication strategies as text messages, vacancy announcements and forged letters inviting them for resumption to work at non-existing jobs.

These, it said, were tricks to extort money from them and cautioned that any applicant who entertained such letters would have himself or herself to blame. It encouraged those who had already fallen victims to volunteer information to the law enforcement agencies.

“We challenge the so call “2019 NNPC CEH” to show Nigerians evidences of letter of appointment issued under the leadership of Mallam Mele Kyari or face legal actions from our Alliance for defamation of Character, the statement concluded.
