Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has commended the party’s running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for his efforts in strengthening the party’s structures across the 19 northern states.

Dickson spoke after hosting Kwankwaso, who visited him with a delegation comprising NDC governorship and National Assembly candidates as well as other party stakeholders from across the northern states.

According to the former Bayelsa State governor, the NDC had entrusted Kwankwaso with the responsibility of leading its party-building efforts across the North, describing his performance as excellent within the time available.

“I thanked Alhaji Kwankwaso for the experience, capacity and extensive network he has deployed to this important assignment. He has lived up to the very high expectations we have of him, and the party is grateful for his service,” Dickson said.

He also appreciated the party’s leaders, candidates and members for their cooperation and support, noting that he had spent the past nine months deeply involved in building the NDC and engaging stakeholders across the country.

Dickson said his efforts had included holding meetings with stakeholders, encouraging party members and strengthening confidence among supporters, adding that he had sacrificed personal activities during the period in order to focus on the party.

He particularly praised Kwankwaso for dedicating the past two weeks to resolving several issues that would otherwise have required his personal attention.

“His intervention has been valuable, and the party will act on the recommendations arising from these engagements,” he stated.

The NDC national leader expressed confidence that the party had established a sustainable political structure with the cooperation of its aspirants, candidates, leaders and members.

He further commended members of the National Working Committee for their support and urged them to extend his appreciation to colleagues who were unable to attend the meeting.

Dickson said he looked forward to joining the party’s candidates and leaders on the campaign trail as the NDC takes its message of a “New Nigeria” to Nigerians across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious, declaring: “By the grace of God, victory will be ours.”
