…We have a good story to tell

In line with making Government adequately capable of discharging its objectives, the Edo State Government has scored another plus in the drive of cutting down on it’s operational cost.
The current launch of EDSG Workplace Mobility Solution, which provides for a centralized fleet management solution and ride-sharing application christened – “MEGA CONNECT” will bring about a drastic reduction in government’s fleet operation cost.
The Mega Connect is a ride-sharing application that will operate just like the regular ride-hailing services such as the Uber, Bolt or Taxify. Mega Connect is “intra-governmental” . In other words, it operates within government, for its officials and Officers! Edo State Government has just launched an ‘EDSG Uber.’
This mobility solution will reduce logistic cost of government , optimize the size of the EDSG fleet, create transparency and efficiency in fueling and other logistic resource utilization.
It is estimated that within one year of the Workplace Mobility Solution, Mega Connect, the government should be saving over NGN200 million in fleet operations costs from transparency in fuel usage, logistic route planning and management, efficient and cost effective engagement of driving personnel, adequate examination of handling effects, optimized tracking solutions to forestall theft and unauthorized engagements; amongst others.
Considering the current state of economic crunch and decline in Federal allocations, it has become expedient to look inwards, consider ways to grow the IGR, and explore ingenious ways to cut costs.
The recent reduction of MDAs from 107 to 72 is also one of the options the government has adopted to reduce the cost of governance, while not departing from the trajectory of continuous transformational developmental provisions.
The government has put in place a very competent fleet Management Team.
