Edo to meet stakeholders on regulation of petrol, gas business

The Edo State Government has said it will meet with stakeholders on Thursday, July 27, 2023, as part of steps to implement the Benin City and Edo State Regional Development Masterplans.

In a statement, Commissioner for Physical Planning, Housing, Urban and Regional Development, Isoken Omo said the meeting with the stakeholders is critical to arriving at a policy for the industry.

She noted, “We are by this letter inviting you to a meeting to discuss the way forward on regulation of petrol and gas stations in line with the Benin and Edo State Regional Development Masterplans.

“Your input is critical to arriving at a policy for the industry.”

According to the Commissioner, the meeting will be held at the Festival Hall, Edo State Government House, Benin City, on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

The proliferation of Gas and Petrol Stations, building without approval as well as safety issues will be discussed.

She added that the invitation has been extended to Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Fire Service, Owners and Operators of Gas Stations, relevant Ministries, Agencies and Departments (MDAs) and Civil Society organisations.
