IJAWS IN UK HONOUR TANTITA CHAIRMAN, TOMPOLO

Ijaw people in the United Kingdom under the aegis of Ijaw People’s Association(IPA) of Great Britain and Ireland have honoured the Chairman of Tantita Security Services with the award of Izon-Ebi Dou Keme.

The award means a leader who wants the progress of the Ijaw Nation.

The IPA bestowed the award on the Tantita Boss August, 17 2024 at  the 76th Ijaw Day Celebration and Award Night at Kervan Banqueting Suite, 293 – 303 Fore Street, London N9 OPD.

According to the IPA, the lifetime award was bestowed on Tompolo, described as Entrepreneur, Businessman, and Social Transformer in recognition of his contributions to the sustenance and development of Ijaw tradition and culture in the Niger Delta region.

A former member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Chief Mcdonald Igbadiwei, led a delegation of representatives to receive the award on behalf of Tompolo in London.

The IPA which marked its 76th years in the UK is led by Rev. Francis B. Akpanari, President and Benaebi Benatari Oguoko, General Secretary.

Leaders of the group, Akpanari and Oguoko described Tompolo as a treasure to Izon-ibe (Ijaw Nation), who had made sustained contributions to improve the standard of living of the people in his way,

“He has contributed immensely to the social, economic and political development of the Izon-Ibe. He has sacrificed himself personally for the survival and success of the Izon-Ibe and has transformed lives of thousands of young people and others directly and indirectly.

“High Chief  Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo – The Izon-Ebi Dou Owei of Izon-Ibe is indeed, a social transformer sent by the Almighty God to transform Ijaw Nation for the better.”

The event was attended by the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the President of the Ijaw National Congress, Professor Benjamin Ogele Okaba, the Chairman Bayelsa State Traditional Council, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo, the Pere of Ekpetiama Kingdom, British Government Officials, Nigeria Embassy Reps, Leaders  of Business and Civil Society and Environmental Organisations in Europe.
