The Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists have abducted a policeman, seven Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) members and hunters in Gubio Local Council of Borno State.

The terrorists kidnapped the policeman and seven others after they were overpowered while patrolling the Gubio-Damasak axis, along Maiduguri/Damasak Road, yesterday. A counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, stated that the joint patrol team of the police and Civilian JTF was attacked by the terrorists at the Rural Grazing Area (RUGA) of Pompom Baliya Village.

According to him, the RUGA is located only five kilometres west of Gubio town along the Maiduguri-Damasak Road. He said that the terrorists, after abducting a policeman and seven Civilian JTF members, snatched a Hilux patrol vehicle.
