NAIRA SCARCITY: THREE YOUTHS KILLED DURING ATTACK ON CBN BRANCH IN BENIN (Video)

Three youths protesting the raging scarcity of the new Naira notes and the rejection of old notes have been shot dead by the police in Benin City, the Edo State Capital

The Network gathered that the three youths were gunned down by armed policemen at the busy Ring Road in Benin while attempting to attack the Benin Branch of the Central Bank at Akpakpava on Wednesday.

A combined team of security personnel comprising policemen, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps  repelled an attack on Central Bank of Nigeria branch and killed  three people.

The angered crowd which was provoked by the death of the youths  resorted to attacking the numerous banks along the Akpkakpkava Road.

Several ATM points and buildings were destroyed by the youths in the ongoing violence.

Some of the banks affected are Sterling Bank, UBA, GTB, Access, Zenith, Stanbic IBTC and others.
