The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has constituted a seven-member National Reconciliation Committee to engage aspirants across the country and address grievances arising from the party’s recent primary elections.
The decision was announced in a press statement signed by the party’s National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses, and National Secretary, Mr. Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, and made available by the National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director.
According to the statement, the committee has been mandated to meet with all aspirants nationwide with a view to resolving outstanding issues and strengthening unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Renowned political economist, Professor Pat Utomi, will serve as Chairman of the committee, while veteran politician Engr. Buba Galadima will serve as Co-Chairman.
Other members of the committee include Mohammed Sanni Takori as Vice Chairman, Babatunde Alli as Secretary, Mrs. Dudu Mamman Manuga, Hon. Salvador Adegoke Moshood, and Alhaji Haruna Pai.
The party also announced the establishment of three sub-committees to handle reconciliation efforts in the North, South-South, and South-East geopolitical zones.
According to the statement, the National Reconciliation Committee will be formally inaugurated at the party’s national secretariat at 12 noon on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
The NDC expressed confidence that the reconciliation process would help resolve internal disagreements, foster unity among party members, and consolidate the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.
