NDC Imo Chapter holds first inaugural state exco meeting

…Mobilises for membership registration

The National Democratic Congress, NDC, Imo State chapter held the inaugural meeting of state executive in Owerri, yesterday.

Speaking during the well attended meeting, the state chairman of the party, Barr Reginald Uwakwe hinted that NDC was officially registered barely two months ago, adding that the party has already hit the ground running by embarking on membership drive to get people register through the party’s online registration portal.

Barr Uwakwe further hinted that the National Identity Card, NIN, or voters card are required for anybody to register as a member.

The state chairman informed that the national leadership of NDC has directed that each ward should register atleast 300 members. He therefore
urged officers of the party to print out registration forms and give out links to people in their wards as part of the ongoing registration drive.

Speaking further, Barr Uwakwe said two committees -Contact and Mobilisation Committee, and Finance Committee – would be set up immediately in line with the directive of the national leadership.

He called on all members of the party in Imo State to work hard in a bid to ensure that more people register with the party.

Speaking also, the South East national vice chairman of NDC, Chief Tedy Obey emphasised the need for all officers of the party to register online through NDC registration portal. The South East national vice chairman called on all officers and leaders of the party to mobilize effectively for the ongoing online membership registration of members.

He disclosed that the leadership of the party in Abuja stressed on the importance of effective mobilisation of women and youths to register as members. He encouraged the interim state officers of the party to work out their hearts for the party, assuring that the reward would come by the grace of God.

In her contribution, the state woman leader, Mrs Uche Judith Ngozi expressed satisfaction at the calibre of people in the party, adding that she would utilise her experience in politics to work for the growth and success of the party.

Meanwhile the state chairman, Barr Uwakwe has hinted that the party was working assiduously to ensure that all structures of the party at ward, LGA, zonal levels.
