“A Renewed Hope for Niger Delta, Mr. President Reconstitutes NDDC Board

“The Citizens Quest for Truth Initiative, an accountability advocacy Non-Governmental Organization, with a bias for Niger Delta environment congratulates Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD, on his reappointment as Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). An appointment that affirms the acknowledgement of his efforts, so far, in managing the affairs of the Commission, for the past couple of months.

“We, therefore, thank Mr. President, His Excellency, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment and for reconstituting the Board.

“This Board, we believe, will usher in a ray of the “Renewed Hope” for the beleaguered region and people of the Niger Delta.

“We also reiterate the call for the urgent review of the Niger Delta master plan, which has long overstayed its lifespan and thus no longer in tune with contemporary realities.

“We are committed to supporting this Board, as well as the Federal Government, to succeed in their set goals, so long as it is for the advancement of the course of our people and for Nation at large.

“We wish the Ogbuku-led Board a rancour-free tenure while expecting a departure from the old order. We advocate a less burdensome verification process and payment of Contractors and Consultants. The full implementation of the Forensic Audit Report will be an advantage towards renewing the hope of Niger Deltans and Nigerians at large.
