Obaseki mourns death of Nowamagbe Omoigui at 62

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has mourned the passing of Civil-Military historian and Cardiologist, Dr. Nowamagbe Omoigui, who died at the age of 62.

In a statement, the governor described the death as painful, noting that late Omoigui was a noble ambassador of Edo State, who exhibited characteristic excellence and intellect of Edo people to the admiration of the whole world.

According to him, “It is with a heavy heart that I received the news of the passing of one of Edo’s distinguished sons, Dr. Nowamagbe Omoigui, who excelled in medicine and history, bringing honour and respect to our state.

“He will be remembered for his contribution to the understanding of the Nigerian civil war and his exploits in intervention cardiology.”

He commiserated with the immediate family, friends and associates of Dr. Omoigui and prayed that God grants them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
