Promises To Prioritize Security If Elected

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi has lamented the assassination of the women leader of the Labour Party in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Mrs Victoria Chintex on Monday night.

The Network reported that assassins trailed Mrs Chintex and her husband to her home and shot her dead while the husband escaped with gunshot injuries.

Obi who reacted through his official Twitter handle expressed shock at the killing of Mrs Chintex.

Obi promised that her murder and others across the country are the reasons he would give priority to security if elected president.

“I am shocked by the mindless killing of Mrs Victoria Chintex, the Labour Party’s women leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, by yet-to-be-identified gunmen. Her death is a huge loss to her immediate and extended family, and to our Labour Party. She lives on in our hearts.

“Her killing, and the loss of many innocent lives across the nation to gunmen and terrorists, are the reason why I must prioritise the war against insecurity as my first task in the office. We must not allow the waste of human lives in Nigeria under any guise.

“May the soul of Late Mrs Victoria Chintex rest in perfect peace. My sincere condolence to her family”, he tweeted.
