A press statement issued today, 22nd January, 2021, by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, to the Deputy President of the Senate, Mr. Yomi Odunuga has paid glowing tributes to late Chief Mrs Pualina Mudiaga Odje(JP). Below is a full text of the press statement:
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has paid glowing tributes to late Chief Paulina Odje, (JP), wife of one of Urhobo’s foremost patriots, elder statesman and legal icon, late Chief Dr. Mudiaga Odje, SAN.
In his condolence message to the family, the Delta Central lawmaker described Mama Odje as a devout Christian who yielded her life completely to the service of God.
According to him, she was a super woman, an exceptionally amazing counselor, family teacher, philanthropist and home builder.
Describing Mama Paulina’s death as a great loss, Senator Omo-Agege said: “She distinguished herself in many ways. She was a woman of rare qualities, a mortal near perfection; a very humane, caring, hospitable and loving mother.
“Words are simply inadequate to describe her. She was humility personified, very unassuming and a woman in whose heart grudge had no room. She cared for everyone who came her way and carried herself with dignity. Her love for family and support for humanity were some of the many qualities that stood her out all time, earning her and her husband the ‘Best Couple of the Year’ award in 1997, courtesy of the Delta State Government”.
While praying God for the repose of Mama’s soul, Senator Omo-Agege admonished the Odje family to take strength in the life of Christ that she lived, adding that Mama made invaluable impact, leaving indelible footprints on the sands of time.
Funeral announcement made available by the Mudiaga Odje family indicates that, a Requim Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church, Warri , Delta State , Nigeria on Thursday, 11th of February, 2021.
On Friday, 12th February 2021, the Funeral Mass and Interment will hold in her home town at St Paul’s Catholic Church, Evwreni, Delta State , Nigeria .
She is survived by Mr Nyerho Odje Odje, Barr. Emuobo Mudiaga Odje, Barr. (Dr.) Aruakpo Mudiaga Odje and Mr. Ufuoma Mudiaga Odje as well as daughters in-laws and many grand and great grand children.
Mama was 86 years old.
