Government College Ughelli Classroom/Admin Main Block

This is one of the classroom blocks of the GOVERNMENT COLLEGE UGHELLI, my alma mater in the 1960s, after my sojourn at Uwa Primary School Benin City in the 1950s.To the right of this block are the Library and the Art Lecture Hall, to the left are the Principal’s Office, Bursary, the Assembly Hall and the Science Labs. I still regard the College with acute nostalgia.

Government College Ughelli Classroom/Admin Main Block

During my time, the School was run on a two stream with 24 students per stream from class one to class five, amounting to a total (1-5) student population of 240. Along with the Higher School Certificate Arts/Science students, the entire student population was at most 260 “caeteris paribus”.

This accounted for the effective teaching and administration of the College.

The sustainance of the high standards of the past, remains the premier goal of the Old Boys Association. The College still situates in and maintains a serene academic environment, thanks to the grand commitment of the Old Boys Association which incidentally hosted its Annual Dinner And Dance Party at the Hilton Canary Wharf, London, UK. on the of 7th October, 2023.

This submission is dedicated to GOVERNMENT COLLEGE UGHELLI and all its academic /non academic staff and students, who have been and are still part of this success story. I am a witness.
To God be the glory.
