Senator Dickson, Peter Obi, lead NDC National Working Committee, Friends and Associates to Burial of Late DSP Zamani Tanko

The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, on Saturday led the party’s leadership to the burial of his longtime aide and confidant, the late DSP Zamani Tanko (Rtd.), in his hometown in Nasarawa State, on the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

 

 

 

Among those who attended the funeral were the NDC Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi and his wife, the wife of the National Leader, wife of the National Leader, Dr. Rachael Dickson, the party’s National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, National Secretary, Bar Ikenna Enekweizu, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), stakeholders, friends and associates of Senator Dickson.

Speaking during the funeral service, Senator Dickson paid glowing tributes to Zamani Tanko, describing him as more than a Security Aide, Special Assistant but a trusted brother and member of his family.

He recalled that Tanko was posted to him as a security officer when he assumed office as Governor of Bayelsa State in 2011, adding that his humility, loyalty, integrity, kindness and strong family values endeared him to everyone who came in contact with him.

According to the former governor, the late officer served with unwavering dedication and professionalism throughout their years together and remained committed to duty until his untimely death in a tragic road accident while still in active service.

“Zamani was a diligent officer and a good man who served with dedication, loyalty and humility till the very end,” Dickson said, praying for God to grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort his family.

 

Also speaking at the service, the NDC presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, who attended with his wife Mrs. Margaret Obi, expressed sympathy to the bereaved family and assured them of the party’s continued support.

Obi echoed Senator Dickson’s sentiments, assuring the family that they would not face the loss alone, stressing that Zamani’s family remained part of the larger NDC family.

 

Senator Dickson also appreciated Peter Obi, the party’s National Chairman, members of the National Working Committee, stakeholders, elders, candidates and other sympathisers who attended the burial, praying for God’s protection and safe journey for all as they returned to their respective destinations.
