Nigeria vs Uganda (Match 5)

Nigeria and Uganda played their last game of the tri-series, with many hoping for a favorable results against the cranes. Unfortunately, the result was the same leaving a lot to ponder.

Uganda won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring their highest total in the tournament thus far of 172 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Nigeria started well with the ball to ensure that Uganda was on 51 runs in the 9.2 overs. The next 3 overs was a nightmare as the Cranes raced to 100 runs by 13.1 overs. From there, it was a freefall as boundaries were scored every other over to leave Nigeria with a daunting task in the second innings.

Saud Islam scored 75 runs off 61 balls, strongly supported by Dinesh Nakrani with 60 runs off 33 balls, as the best batting statistics for Uganda.

Prosper Useni continues to shine with the ball taking 2 wickets yet again with Abolarin Rasheed providing supports with 2 wickets as well.

In the second innings, Nigeria responded well with the bat after getting to 50 runs in 11.4 overs. Fall of wicket continued to hinder any potential fight back, leaving the required run rate per over well over 13 runs per over.
