…Says Non – Kinetic Approach Key to Operational Success

The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East Operation HADIN KAI Major General Gold Chibuisi has described non kinetic approach as key to operational success. He made the disclosure at the grand finale of the school quiz competition organized for students of government secondary school in North East (NE), held at Government College Maiduguri, Borno State.

General Chibuisi stated that JTF NE Operation HADIN KAI, was at the forefront of bringing not just security to the people of North East, but also engaged in non kinetic, soft power community oriented endeavours to aid the people minimize the impact of the insurgency.

The Theatre Commander who was represented by the Deputy Theatre Commander Major General Olatokunbo Bello, emphasized that it was common knowledge that the NE was emerging from challenges of Boko Haram insurgency that has lasted for decades, adding that one of the underlying propaganda issues upon which the insurgency thrived was the label Western education is forbidden.

He stated that the grand finale of the maiden inter secondary school quiz competition, would encourage the young ones to take academic activities seriously and understand that their future was assured with education.

In his remarks also, the Commissioner of Education Borno State represented by the Director Administration Ministery of Science, Technology and Innovation Borno State Mallam Ali Musa, noted that the Nigerian Army has done alot for the peace and security of the NE, stressing that the competition was a welcome development that would bring out the best in secondary school students in the region and beyond.

The Director used the occasion to thank the Theatre Commander and the Nigerian Army for the remarkable initiative and gesture, assuring that it was well appreciated and would be delivered to the state government.

Recall that the preliminary stage of the competition at the State level started on 10 October 2023 in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa States.

The grand finale which climaxed the convergence of winners from the 3 states, saw the emergence of Fika Government Secondary School Potiskum Yobe State as first position, Yerwa Government Girls Secondary School Maiduguri Borno State 2nd Position and Government Secondary School Garkida Adamawa State 3rd position.

High points of the competition were the presentation of medals/prices to the competitors, souvenirs to dignitaries and group photograph.

Present among the personalities that graced the occasion include, His Royal Highness The Shehu of Borno represented by Lieutenant Commander B Kyari (rtd) Aji Sudan Zanna Dashimma, General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army/ Commander Sector 1 JTF NE Operation HADIN KAI Major General Peter Malla, Commander Sector 3 JTF NE Operation HADIN KAI Brigadier General WM Dangana, representative of Commander Sector 2 JTF NE Operation HADIN KAI Lieutenant Colonel R Jegede and Principal Staff Officers of Headquarters Theatre Command.
