…Expresses deep gratitude for the massive support.
The State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has once again expressed profound gratitude to the people of Bayelsa state for the overwhelming support it has given to the Party and its two Senatorial candidates Hon. (Chief) Henry Seriake Dickson and Pastor Cleopas Moses, our standard bearers for Bayelsa West and Bayelsa Central Senatorial Districts throughout the period of campaigns; In a press statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ebiye Agu Ogoli, the party further stated that;
“We have been pleasantly surprised at the large turnout of supporters in each of our campaign venues, be it in our villages or in the city, with the grand finale which came up yesterday in Sagbama and later on in Yenagoa. Without doubt, these campaign events have further gone to show clearly to everyone the primacy of PDP in Bayelsa politics; infact, PDP is unarguably the only Political party with solid structures on ground in every part of the state with capacity to win a free and fair election anyday”.
The State Chairman who made the above remark while addressing newsmen at the end of General meeting of the State Working Committee of the Party also acknowledged the amount of work and sacrifices made by committee members and expressed gratitude for their diligence and forthrightness which had resulted in the overall success of the campaigns. He then asked party faithfuls to look ahead and redouble their efforts towards ensuring proper mobilisation of our supporters not only in going out to cast their ballot but to ensure that their votes are counted, results entered and announced at the polling centre..
“As you are no doubt aware, it is only our Party – the PDP that had taken the pains to go to all the nooks and crannies of the two Senatorial Districts to present her candidates to the people, and in return soliciting for their votes; from house to house, from village to village. However, the main opposition party had not thought it worthwhile to do likewise but rather had concentrated her campaigns around Yenagoa and it’s environs. For the PDP, because we feel so fulfilled with the calibre of persons we were putting forward for election, we have always wanted our people to meet, assess them at close quarters towards making informed choices as to their suitability for the task ahead on the day of election.
“And as was expected, the report we have been getting from our people since then, is that of a very high acceptance for our two Senatorial candidates in both the Central Senatorial and West Senatorial Districts. One other thing we are thankful for, is again the uncommon outpour of sincere love for our two candidates. In places visited, many spent long hours, made personal sacrifices to stay back in their homes just to receive and welcome our entourage into their communities.This is unparalleled and we are not taking it for granted. We therefore say a big thank you to – our Royal Highnesses, Chiefs, Elders, mothers, illustrious Sons and daughters, opinion leaders, political groups, youths, women and men etc.”
“Before, roundinh up, I make bold to say again, that your in-coming Senators will not be bench warmers but will give us quality and first class representation at the Upper Chambers of the National Assembly. Mark these words “OUR CANDIDATES ARE THE BEST AND THEY WILL SURELY DO US PROUD.’ concluded the State Chairman.
