Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, returned to the country this Thursday night, October 6, 2023, after spending 12 days in the United Kingdom.

He landed into the warm embrace of associates, family members and friends waiting anxiously at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

Among those on ground to receive the former Lagos State Governor were his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, and Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, who doubles as Director-General of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Organisation.

Tinubu’s return came barely hours after presidential spokesperson Bashir Ahmad tweeted: “After days of intensive political consultations and meetings in London, our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is expected back in Abuja, later today.”

Tinubu’s sudden take-off to the United Kingdom, which made him to miss the kick-off of the 2023 political campaigns, had sparked speculations of ill health occasioning immediate medical attention. Tinubu’s camp, however, insisted that he was well and only went to the UK to rest.
