More reactions followed the comments made by the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, against Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State on Sunday, with concerned citizens seeking an apology from the former governor of Lagos State.

According to the PUNCH, Tinubu remarked during his campaign in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State’s capital, that if he hadn’t been asked, he would have sent his “neighbor” packing by putting “Lizard, pigeon, and scorpion” in the residence of Udom in Lagos State.

“That boy who brought Atiku here and calls himself governor. Tell him enough is enough. Tell him enough is enough. He lives in my backyard in Lagos, and if we weren’t related, I’d drive him home.

If you don’t beg me, I’ll just put a lizard, a bird, and a scorpion there,” Tinubu reportedly added.

The Concerned Citizens of Akwa Ibom State, on the other hand, chastised Tinubu for making the statement, calling it “sarcastic, inciting, and life-threatening.”

Isikong Isong, the Convener of CCAIS, told journalists in Abuja that an older statesman of Tinubu’s caliber should not be making such words capable of setting the country on fire.

“We, as concerned Nigerians, arising from our biannual general meeting today, condemn this unpatriotic, unconscionable democratic, sarcastic, offensive, and abusive act on the sitting Governor, Udom Emmanuel, and demand an apology from Bola Tinubu and the withdrawal of that unprintable comment for the sake of unity and peace for our dear country.”

According to him, Tinubu should have acted with dignity when Emmanuel provided logistics and permitted the use of the state-owned international stadium for a smooth campaign.

“We have waited in calm to see whether the APC as a party or its presidential candidate will retract this tragic outburst and let peace prevail,” he stated, “but sadly, nothing to demonstrate sorrow has happened which has necessitated this news conference.”
