President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi, the mother of former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.
Dame Amaechi passed away at the age of 89, prompting an outpouring of condolences from the President, who described her as a woman of exemplary faith, strong family values and selfless service.
In a condolence message issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised the late matriarch for her unwavering commitment to the Catholic faith and her dedication to raising children who have made significant contributions to public service.
The President noted that Dame Amaechi’s life was defined by love, sacrifice, kindness and perseverance, virtues that earned her admiration from all who encountered her.
He urged the bereaved Amaechi family to find comfort in the enduring legacy of faith, dignity and service she left behind for her children, the Church and society at large.
“My heartfelt condolences to Rt. Hon. Amaechi, the entire Amaechi family, the Catholic faithful, and the government and people of Rivers State over the loss of Dame Ezinne Amaechi, a champion of faith whose life was marked by humility and selfless service to humanity,” the President said.
President Tinubu prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and asked God to grant strength and comfort to her family and all those grieving her passing.
