Two notorious kidnappers have been nabbed and paraded by the Nigerian police.
The suspects, Joel Emazor, 31, and Philip Roberts, 30, were arrested on 30 March 2023.

Roberts and Emazor were arrested after they collected ransom from a family of their victims.
The Standard Gazette gathered that the duo belongs to a syndicate specialising in abducting innocent persons in Benin City.

On 5 February, the gang stormed a house on Igbinedion Avenue, GRA, Benin City and abducted one Mr Albert, a resident of the house.

Albert was forced into a standby Lexus Jeep with registration number RBC 18 DC and drove through the Benin-Agbor road bypass near Okhuaihe.
His abductors kept him in an abandoned borrow pit for five days until his family paid a ransom.

The Standard Gazette learned that the kidnappers demanded N14 million, but Albert’s family raised and paid N5 million, 100 thousand before he was released on 10 February 2023.

The Edo police command Intelligence Rapid Response Squad was informed of the suspects’ whereabouts on 30 March 2023 and immediately dispatched its officers.

In an interview with TSG crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe, one of the arrested suspects, Robert, said, “We did a business with the guy we kidnapped, but he did not remit the money we got. We then kept him till we ensured we have a share.”

The Edo state police Public Relations officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, said the suspects were trailed through technical means and arrested.” The police in Edo will keep making the state uncomfortable for criminals. The suspects have been adequately profiled, and other gang member have been identified”.

The police say the two suspects will appear in court soon.
