Two Terrorist Members Killed in Gun Duel with Security Operatives in Katsina

Two members of a terrorist group that planned to attack a village in Katsina State, yesterday, Tuesday, December 13, 2022, met their waterloo.

The notorious terrorists, whose number could not be ascertained, were said to had attacked Sokoto-Rima Quarters in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state, shooting sporadically.

Their intention, as disclosed in a press release by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Gambo Isah, was to kidnap some residents and demand ransom.

But, unknown to them that it was a doom day for two of their members, information got to the Police at about 7:30pm through a distress call

The Dutsinma Area Commader quickly mobilized his men and raced to the area during which, a fierce gun duel ensued.⁸

At the end of the hot exchange of fire power, two of the notorious terrorists on Police wanted list, had been felled.

Gambo stated that a search party was ongoing, as the Police operatives were on extensive combing of the area, with a view to arresting some fleeing members of the syndicate who, he said, could not have gone far in their escape bid, given their gunshot wounds.

Also, according to the PPRO, the combing exercise could lead to recovery of some of the hoodlums’ weapons though fled the scene with gunshots wounds and/or recover their operational weapons. Investigation is ongoing please.
