September 30, 2024

The Edo State Government condemns the unauthorized visit of impeached deputy governor Philip Shaibu to the construction site of the Radisson Hotel Project. This action represents a significant breach of privacy for the private sector investors involved in the project.

Background:
The Radisson Hotel Project is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), where the private sector holds the majority equity. As such, these investors have the right to pursue legal action against Philip Shaibu for infringing upon their private space.

Legal Implications:
We recognize that Philip Shaibu’s limited experience in the private sector may hinder his understanding of the legal risks associated with his actions. It is important for him to acknowledge that, as a private citizen, he must conduct himself in a manner that respects the rights and privacy of others in accordance with the law.

Government Commitment:
The Edo State Government is dedicated to ensuring the security and safety of businesses and investments within the state. We will provide the necessary support for any investor whose rights or privacy has been violated, empowering them to seek redress. This commitment aims to bolster investor confidence and ensure that businesses can prosper without fear of interference.

Conclusion:
We urge the private sector in Edo State to disregard the actions of the impeached deputy governor and to have confidence in the protection of their investments under the laws of the state.

Signed:

Chris Osa Nehikhare
Hon. Commissioner for Communication and Orientation
Edo State.
