Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, and former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, on Sunday met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as political consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to intensify.
Makinde disclosed the meeting in a post on his official Facebook page, stating that the delegation visited Obasanjo at his residence in the Ogun State capital to discuss pressing national issues in the context of the forthcoming elections.
“Earlier today, we visited Baba, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR in Abeokuta,” the governor wrote.
“Our discussions centred on important national issues in view of the upcoming general election. We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation’s history.”
While the governor did not reveal the specific details of the deliberations, the meeting has attracted significant political attention, coming at a time when consultations and alliance-building are gathering pace across the country’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 polls.
