Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, on Friday, hit back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, accusing him of threatening an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during a by-election in 2016.

Sowore, in a post on X, referenced an audio in which Wike was allegedly heard making threats to an INEC official. He wrote, “The crazy, killer drunkard–murderer-land thief FCT Minister, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, @GovWike, is caught on tape here threatening to kill @inecnigeria officials he bribed to rig a by-election for him in 2016. Wike is a dedicated criminal. His day will come.”

He further alleged that the minister had also threatened him with assassination. “His threatening me with assassination on behalf of @officialABAT Tinubu is nothing new. @GovWike has killed many, stolen so much, and gotten away with too many crimes,” Sowore claimed.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Wike nor INEC has responded to Sowore’s allegations, while the video in question has continued to circulate online. (AriseNews TV)
